JAC Chandigarh 2026 Choice Locking Process
Overview of Choice Locking

Choice Locking is the final and most crucial step of the Choice Filling Phase in JAC Chandigarh Counselling. After selecting and arranging the preferred colleges and branches, candidates must explicitly lock their choices to confirm their final preference list. The seat allotment algorithm relies entirely on this locked list.

Step-by-Step Choice Locking Guide

Step 1: Final Review of Choices

Before proceeding to lock, thoroughly review your filled choices. Ensure that your dream college/branch is at the top (Priority #1), followed by your subsequent preferences in strictly decreasing order of priority.

Step 2: Save and Lock

Click on the "Save and Lock Choices" button available on your dashboard. You will typically be prompted to agree to a declaration stating that you understand choices cannot be modified after locking.

Step 3: Password Confirmation

To ensure security and prevent accidental locking, the portal will ask you to re-enter your JAC Chandigarh account password. Enter the password and confirm.

Step 4: Take a Printout

Once successfully locked, a final list of your preferences will be generated. Download and print this locked choice list. It serves as proof of your submitted choices and is mandatory during physical document verification.
